The Alaska huskies are the most social animals in Svalbard, and we give them just as much love and attention all year around.
Dogsledding with Basecamp is more than standing behind a sled with dogs. You will participate in the full experience of harnessing the huskies, steering the wagon wheel and socialise with them before and after the run. We will teach you all the basics and supervise you as we go.
After the adventure, we will finish up with a warm drink in front of the camp fire or inside our trapper's hut.
- The guide picks you up at your hotel or guesthouse in Longyearbyen at the starting time of the trip. Then you'll drive 10 km to Bolterdalen where the dog yard is situated.
- Participation on a dogsledding trip is not recommended for persons suffering from back pains or pregnant women. This is for your safety and well-being. Basecamp Explorer can unfortunately not take responsibility for health problems due to neglecting this advice.
