Accompanied by dogs and our experienced guides you will travel through the beautiful landscape of Spitsbergen, where you can fully enjoy the silence and the magnificent arctic nature. This daytrip gives you a full day of dog sledging in combination with visit to the ice cave.
You will meet our guide at your hotel, go through today’s route and needed equipment. After 10 minutes car ride, you will arrive to Trapper's Station situated in Bolterdalen, where our 90 friendly Alaskan huskies are eager to meet you. Our guide will introduce the principle of dogsledding and help you to harness your own team. On this trip, two persons share one dog team, and can take turns in driving.
Arriving to the glacier, you will dress up with headlamps and helmets. With proper equipment, we can take closer look inside the glacier and explore the fantastic formations of ice and rocks shaped by nature’s own forces. We eat lunch outside enjoying the beautiful scenery. Back at the husky kennel, all participants will help to take care of their own teams. Before heading back to town you have chance to look around at authentic Trapper's Station with many interesting items from trapping times.

DURATION & DISTANCE: Approx. 7 hours & 15 km
INCLUDED: Dogsledding trip (2 persons sharing a dog team), visit to the ice cave, guide with all necessary safety equipment, thermal suit, boots, gloves, goggles, balaclava and hat, lunch, hot drinks and biscuits.
DIFFICULTY: Moderate. Suitable for anyone with normal physical condition. No previous knowledge required. The tour is not recommended for persons suffering from claustrophobia or with limited mobility.
