Founded in 1999, Poli Arctici is a small, specialised tour operator with main seat in Longyearbyen, Svalbard . Our main interests are excursions and expeditions on Svalbard all year. We also do logistics and assistance to scientists and TV/film crews out in the field as well as transportations around Svalbard .
With a great variety of expertise the tours conducted either by foot or dinghy during summer/autumn, and by snowmobile or skies accompanied by Greenland dogs during spring/winter. We make specially arranged tours according to experience, wishes and your preferred way of travel for individual travellers, large and small groups and visitors with special needs/goals (photographers, tv-crews, ornithologists, etc). We make special tour arrangements to satisfy individual needs and requirements. Main activities is longer tours over several days winter and summer (with overnights in tent/cabin), but we have also shorter day and half daytrips. Poli Arctici has as it's main purpose to understand the customer and contribute to their enjoyment on Svalbard, with it's powerful arctic nature, regardless of who they are and their location. The few trusted co operational partners that help when Poli Arctici is in need, are friends and colleges Poli Arctici has known for many years. All of them have several years of experience from Svalbard , with all kinds of activities. Some of them grew up on Svalbard, some are professional rescue workers, climbers and outdoor life. We know eachother well both proffesionally and personally. The main reason for all of us to stay at Svalbard after so many years is our personal strong interest for the high Arctic . To work at Svalbard in order to stay outdoors and enjoy the freedom the archipelago has to offer is a choise. It is not random. We expect from our selves quality, security and the vivid interest of Svalbard . This gives us freedom and makes us feel comfortable with our choice in life.
