|Longyearbyen (27 Sept 2018 - 29 Sept 2018)|
You don’t need to travel to Germany to drink golden pints at tax-free prices. In Longyearbyen, you can taste your way through your way through an extensive selection of beers accompanied by oom-pah music in Arctic surroundings.
The focus in Longyearbyen in late September is on hops, malt and music for three full days as we hold the world’s northernmost Oktoberfest! You can choose between more than 80 varieties of beer!
The scale of the festival has grown since the inaugural Oktoberfest in 2009 with a large heated tent and a broad selection of beer and food. Entertainment is provided by top bands, and the festival includes the crowning of ‘Moustache of the Year’ and ‘Miss Oktoberfest’. There is also considerable focus on food, including fårikål (Norwegian lamb stew), beermakers’ dinners and food cooked with beer.
