A very special wilderness hotel off the beaten track. You can only get here by boat (summer) or snowmobile (winter).
Isfjord Radio Adventure Hotel is beautifully located at the end of Cape Linné by the Isfjorden. Surrounded by mighty mountains, tundra, cliffs and the sea.
Isfjord Radio was built in 1933, and the old radio station is now a delicate hotel with a lot of character. The exterior is rough and real, while the interior is delicate and pleasant. Interior expert Halvor Bakke has taken inspiration from the Arctic in the choice of colors and materials in the hotel, and the atmosphere is cozy and warm, perfect after activities and for peace for good work meetings or social gatherings.
The kitchen at Isfjord Radio is in a class of its own. The menu is based on Arctic ingredients, and every autumn the head chef gets reindeer, seals and grouse from local trappers. Everything is taken care of for servings throughout the year. It is frozen, dug, dried and smoked. When the occasion arises, the head chef and assistants bring fishing equipment and ensure fresh serving of arctic char from mountain lakes or freshly caught fish from the sea.
Isfjord Radio Adventure Hotel is surrounded by nature, and the wildlife comes up close. Here, arctic foxes play among grazing Svalbard reindeer, and in the summer there is hectic activity in the bird reserve located next to the hotel. Seals, walruses and various cetacean species can be observed as they swim past, and the wilderness hotel is regularly visited by polar bears. This is precisely why security at the hotel is very high, guests are always accompanied by armed guards during outdoor activities.
At the far end of a cliff by the hotel is the Kokeriet, a free-standing sauna with panoramic windows facing the sea. A fresh start to the day begins with a swim in the Isfjorden, followed by a warming time in the Kokeriet. Before dinner, we recommend bringing something cold to drink, for a relaxing arctic spa adventure in the sauna.
Isfjord Radio Adventure Hotel is a unique setting for experiences that bring people together. A different and exotic experience that will be remembered and appreciated. Perfect for smaller groups who want personal and knowledgeable care, based on quality and expedition spirit.
