There's plenty of fish in the Isfjord in Svalbard. The last few years, Longyearbyen has had an abundance of large cod during the late summer season and during the fall. The locals in Svalbard have been able to harvest these resources for a long time, and now it's finally your turn to go fishing in the Arctic!
We'll use our sturdy open rib boats to take us out to the best location for fishing. You will get to borrow everything you need from us – from fishing rods to flotation suits that will keep you safe, warm and dry.
The best fishing area is by Fuglefjellet, Norwegian for “the bird mountain”. As the name reveals, and if it isn’t too late in the season, you can spot plenty of eager birds on the cliffs over our fishing spot. Those who catch fish will surely become popular among the always hungry gulls, puffins and fulmars who will flock around the boat hoping for a delicious fish head for lunch!
