About

Dark Season Blues is the world’s northernmost blues festival. This annual festival in late October marks the beginning of the dark season when daylight and the sun are about to leave Svalbard for four long winter months.

The distinctive blue light of the ‘twilight period’ provides a unique atmosphere for the four-day festival featuring concerts by local, national and international blues artists at most of Longyearbyen’s concert venues. The intimate and relaxed atmosphere allow artists, audiences and locals to mingle throughout the weekend. This creates unforgettable musical experiences and many of the guests return year after year.
