Visit Svalbard's various attractions
In Longyearbyen there are several places that are worth a visit as Svalbard Church, The North Pole Expedition Museum, Svalbard Museum and Nordover.
Svalbard Museum, Norway’s arctic museum, farthest north, received the Council of Europe Museum Prize for 2008 competing against 59 other Museum around Europe. The exhibition presents fragments of Svalbard's 400-year history and describes factors that help support life and the activities taking place here, which together reveal the close relationship between sea and land, nature and cultural history.
We also recommend you visit North Pole Expedition Museum (earlier known as Spitsbergen Airship Museum). The purpose of the museum is to impart the history and importance 3 airships have had in the Arctic: America, Norge and Italia.
