On the lookout for wildlife! Nature Hike through the valley of Bjørndalen - Snowfox Travel

Join us on this relatively easy and stunning nature hike, which will take us through the beautiful valley of Bjørndalen.

We will start our tour at 09:30 am, where your guide will pick you up at your accommodation. From here we will drive by minivan along the coastline passing Vestpynten towards Bjørndalen. Here we will leave our car behind and we will start our nature walk through the valley.

Bjørndalen is known for its rich flora and fauna and it is the place near town to have a chance to spot Arctic wildlife such as the Arctic fox, Svalbard reindeer and Arctic birds during the summer.

Along the way your guide will tell you more about the beautiful flora and fauna and the rich history of Svalbard.
We will make sure to have enough stops to take photos and to enjoy a warm expedition lunch and drinks.

When it is time to drive back to town, we will make sure to be on the lookout for belugas along the coastline and maybe even a walrus!

This tour will take approximately 5 hrs and is about 3-5km with 100m elevation (maximum).

Included:
Our professional and dedicated guide, warm expedition lunch, hot drinks and snacks, rescue insurance, emergency and safety equipment, transfer to and from your accommodation. If needed we will provide trekking poles and crampons for underneath your shoes.

What to bring:
We recommend you to bring: Sturdy waterproof hiking boots (above the ankle), (soft shell) hiking pants, shell pants and jacket (wind and waterproof), base layers, warm hiking socks, insulating mid-layer, warm hat (like a beanie), warm mittens/ gloves, comfortable day pack and a filled water bottle. If you can, choose woolen materials closest to your body.

Important to know:
Although our activity is focussed on wildlife, their presence can never be guaranteed.

If we need to adjust our planned route due to safety reasons, we hold the right to do so.
There is no reimbursement if we need to. 

Pickup: at your accommodation around the time stated on your confirmation. Just wait if we are not there on time.
We pick up everyone at the same time, so we could be some minutes later.

We reserve the right to refuse you to join our activity, if you do not arrive properly prepared in terms of clothing when we pick you up. 
Your safety is our main concern.

Cancellations:
If you need to adjust your booking, let us know. If available, we gladly book you in on another day of your preference.
However, if you need to cancel please notify us in writing.

Cancellation reimbursement:
- 22 days or more prior to departure: 95%
- 21-8 days prior to departure: 50%
- 7 or less days prior to departure: 0%

Refunds:
We are not able to offer a refund due to route changes, sickness, cancelled or delayed flights or any other circumstance outside our control. We recommend you to have a valid travel insurance.

Age limits:
This experience is suitable for all ages. All under 18 need to be accompanied by an adult.
