The Spitsbergen Artists Center is a dynamic creative hub located in Nybyen, the historic district of Longyearbyen. Situated in a former miners’ store built in 1947, the center provides studio spaces, accommodations, and opportunities for artistic collaboration with participants from around the world.
It hosts an open-call residency program, along with exhibitions, cultural events, workshops, and a craft center where visitors can explore and purchase locally made art and handcrafted items.
As a vital cultural venue in the Arctic, the center fosters artistic exchange and promotes awareness of environmental and political issues through the power of art.
