About

Together with our eager and friendly huskies, you’ll travel through the beautiful, sheltered landscape of Bolterdalen towards Scott Turnerbreen, an area where snowmobiles are prohibited. As the valley gradually climbs towards the glacier, both you and the dogs will have earned a well-deserved break. Our cosy snow igloo offers a welcome refuge, with temperatures inside considerably warmer than outside. Here, we’ll enjoy a warm lunch, followed by hot drinks and snacks before continuing our adventure.

If conditions allow, you may also have the chance to enter the glacier itself.
Following a meltwater channel, we can explore the glacier from the inside and discover layers of ice that may be 600–1,000 years old.
This unique experience depends on the conditions and accessibility of the ice cave, which can vary from year to year. In 2026, the ice cave was particularly spectacular, and we hope to find an equally beautiful one in winter 2027.

After exploring the glacier, we’ll return by dog sled to our kennel, where you’ll have the chance to say goodbye to your new husky friends before we drive you back to Longyearbyen.

We’ll pick you up at your accommodation in Longyearbyen and drive through historic Adventdalen to our kennel in Bolterdalen, approximately 10 km outside Longyearbyen. Here, we’ll provide all the warm clothing you need, including an insulated overall, hat, mittens, winter boots and headlamp. Before setting off, you’ll receive instructions on how to safely travel with your dog team.

This is an active dog-sledding experience: you’ll travel two people per team and you both will actively drive the dogs using our specially designed double sleds there none are sitting as passenger.

More than a dog sledding tour
We are a small Norwegian family-run business, and our huskies are not simply working dogs—they are part of our family. Our lives have always revolved around dogs, adventure and the Arctic. Together with our huskies, we have travelled to the North Pole, participated in the Iditarod—the world’s longest sled dog race—and completed numerous expeditions in Svalbard.

At our kennel, our passion for dogs and wilderness is at the heart of everything we do. We want to share that passion with you, giving you an authentic Arctic experience where you can get to know our dogs, learn about life with a sled dog team and experience the spectacular winter landscape of Svalbard from the runners of a sled with no engine noise.

Minimum age: 12 years, if younger contact us for a custom-made family trip.
Contact us directly if you want to book trips with children since we set up an extra guide for these trips.

Weight limit: 110kg per person

Please note that the guide will start picking up guests from the hotels at 09:00 (10:00 on Saturdays and Sundays).
