About
The coffee roastery was established in 2021 when both owners, who were dogsled guides, needed something warm and cosy to balance the harshness of the outdoors. Longyearbyen offered a sense of adventure and risk-taking, which led to a 'well, why not' attitude. Having an interest in speciality coffee, we identified a gap and a need for fresh, speciality-grade coffee within the community and the tourism industry. The community has embraced the roastery with pride and love, and it isn't melting away anytime soon. Our unofficial motto "where fire meets ice" highlights the dichotomy of us enjoying the frozen nature with guiding and for fun to then go inside and slow down with roasting and creating something we can share.
We offer coffee tastings and workshops for locals and tourists seeking a different experience on Svalbard as well as a shelter from the elements.
