Whatever the season or the weather, our professional guides will bring you out in the wilds of Svalbard and give you the best tips and tricks for an unforgettable camping experience.
Don’t feel shy to join even if you have never camped before! By starting in the rough nature of Svalbard and learning from experts, you will learn everything you need to know for camping anywhere afterwards!

We have hand-picked easy to reach and scenic camping locations for each season, and after a short hike you’ll be ready to set camp and discover all of the trade secrets.
The location will vary depending on the season and conditions.
In the dark season and winter, we offer the possibility to go on skis.
Tour duration: 2 days, 1 night (can be extended on request).

Tour plan
Your guide will meet you in front of your hotel at the agreed time. After a short drive to our office, we’ll go through the equipment and packing together in the warmth, before heading out. Once ready, we drive to the chosen location, and start an easy hike towards our home for the night.

As soon as we find a good location, we’ll start preparing the camp, pitching the tents, cooking for the evening and doing everything that one must do to enjoy the best of camping. Your guide will be here to accompany you through the whole process, and to share all the tips and tricks they know about camping in the Arctic.

Depending on the season, you’ll learn how to pack your rucksack or pulka, dig a snow cave or build an igloo, light a bonfire in any conditions, find the best spot for your tent in a rocky terrain, cook a delicious meal on a field stove, and so much more…

After enjoying a tasty dinner, everyone will get ready to sleep a cosy night, and to take their turn on polar bear watch, during which you can enjoy the quiet beauty of Svalbard for yourself while everyone else is asleep.
Whether the night is lit up by the midnight sun or the northern lights are painting the sky, we do have to watch out for polar bears. You will be asked to spend an hour or two on watch.

In the morning, we’ll have a tasty breakfast before getting ready to pack down the camp, and head back to civilization.
Depending on the weather and conditions, it may be possible to have a short day hike with lightweight backpacks on day 1 or day 2.

What do I need to join?
- Solid and warm hiking boots
- Windproof outdoor clothing (GoreTex type)
- Warm inner layers (we strongly recommend wool)
- Big backpack (summer) or duffel bag (winter)

A full list of the necessary equipment will be provided to you upon booking.

- Transportation to and from start and end points of the tour
- All meals & snacks on the tour
- Sleeping kit
- Common equipment (tents, stoves, bowl & cutlery…)
- Guide - Search & Rescue insurance

- We highly recommend all our guests to have their own travel insurance.
