Here you will find information about the travel trade in Longyearbyen with focus on the sea-based tourism segments including expedition and conventional cruises. These visitor segments traditionally count for approximately 50% of the tourism to Svalbard, and are visiting from mid-April to mid-October. The expedition cruise segment use Longyearbyen as a turn around port and their guests fly in. The conventional cruise segment use Longyearbyen as a transit port.
