Starting from the historic outpost of Sverdrupbyen, we leave the modern world behind to traverse the raw, untouched beauty of the Arctic wilderness. This is an immersive, expert-led exploration where the pace is set for discovery. Scour the glacial debris for pristine, delicate leaf imprints preserved in stone—a tangible piece of history from when the Arctic was a lush, tropical paradise.
It is a perfect place to also cover a modern, mining history of Longyearbyen with a perfect view on the old mines.
After exploring the terrain, we’ll take a moment to pause, enjoy a warm drink, and reflect on our finds. It is a free souvenir. How many can you fit in your backpack?
After little rest we get ready to step on the pure ice! Spikes and glacier mode on. Lets have a short walk on the glacier with stunning photos possibilities and simply breathtaking experience.

Practical Information
- Minimum number of participants: 2 people
- Minimum age 8
- Physical requirements: Participants must be in normal physical condition and able to walk total distance of around 6 kilometer on flat, moraine terrain and a glacier with the spikes on. We will go a little bit uphill and short part of the hike will be on the rocks and ice.
