Journey into the frozen heart of Svalbard with our immersive Ice Cave Hike.
Leaving the familiar streets of Longyearbyen behind, we embark on a guided trek toward one of the majestic local glaciers—either Larsbreen or Longyearbreen, depending on the day’s best conditions.
As we ascend the snowy slopes and navigate the rugged moraine, the raw, silent beauty of the Arctic winter unfolds around us.
Every step takes us further from the modern world and deeper into the wilderness.

The true magic begins when we reach the glacier's surface.
Beneath the thick layers of ancient ice lies a hidden, subterranean world: a dynamic meltwater channel that freezes solid during the polar winter. Equipped with the necessary safety gear—including crampons for secure footing, helmets, and headlamps (all provided by us)
—you will descend into this captivating ice-palace.

Inside the ice cave, you will find yourself surrounded by smooth, sculpted walls of deep blue ice, sparkling icicles, and fascinating geological formations trapped in time. Walking through these narrow, winding passages feels like stepping onto another planet.
Your professional guide will lead the way, illuminating the darkness and sharing expert insights into the glaciology of Svalbard, ensuring a safe and profoundly educational exploration.

This 5-hour adventure requires an average level of physical fitness, as the hike involves a steady, sustained incline through varied snow and ice conditions before reaching the cave entrance.
It involves a 350-meter ascent, so please be true to yourself when assessing your capabilities.

Inside the glacial depths, we will take a moment to absorb the peaceful and quiet “belly” of the glacier, warming up with a hot drink and a well-deserved snack before making our descent.

The way down from the glacier offers an ultimate panoramic view of the valley and fjord.

- Physical requirements: Participants must be in average physical condition and able to hike on inclined, snowy, and uneven terrain. Cave entrance conditions may vary; it may be narrow, and there might be a snow cap, stairs, or a ladder carved into the snow.
