Slow down and experience the tranquillity of the Arctic during Svalbard's Polar Night. Combining guided meditation, gentle movement and the silence of the wilderness, this evening offers a chance to disconnect from everyday life and reconnect with nature.
Find calm in the Arctic wilderness
The Polar Night is one of the quietest times of year on Svalbard. With no daylight, the landscape becomes still, the stars shine brightly overhead and the Arctic reveals a sense of calm that is difficult to find anywhere else.
Your evening begins with a transfer to Camp Barentz, where a warm cabin and a crackling fire welcome you in from the winter cold. Here, certified yoga teacher and founder of Soul Peak Studio, Aheyong, guides you through a calming mindfulness session inspired by the unique surroundings of the High Arctic.
Using gentle breathing techniques, meditation and mindful awareness, you'll be invited to slow your pace, settle into the present moment and embrace the stillness that defines the Polar Night.
Following the indoor session, you'll step outside for a peaceful walk through the Arctic landscape beneath a sky filled with stars. Away from the lights of town, the silence and darkness create the perfect setting to reflect, unwind and experience nature from a new perspective.
The evening concludes back at Camp Barentz with warm drinks and light refreshments before returning to Longyearbyen feeling refreshed, grounded and connected to the Arctic.
