Join us for a full day at sea where we will set course to a unique location even more up North, at 79°degrees.
Our destination Ny-Ålesund is a unique settlement for researchers, and a few lucky tourists. This will be a day for the memory books with spectacular fjords and glaciers, wildlife scouting and revisiting historical moments at the world's northernmost research station.
This tiny cluster of colorful wooden houses isn't a mining town anymore. You can't simply book a hotel and show up. For most people, arriving by boat is the only way in.
Scientists from all over the globe come here to study everything from glaciers to atmospheric pollution. Ny-Ålesund exists to protect that research. Mobile phones go into flight mode the moment we arrive, as this is a radio-silent zone.
We will spend around two hours ashore in Ny-Ålesund. You'll see the world's northernmost post office, and the mast where Roald Amundsen's giant airship "Norge" once stood ready for the North Pole expedition back in 1926. Your guide will tell you the story behind it. We'll enjoy our packed lunch along the way, with hot drinks to keep you warm.
Sailing there and back is half the adventure. On our way we'll stop at Poolepynten to scout for walruses. Poolepynten is a well known area where often walrus colonies can be found. We'll keep an eye out for other wildlife too, like seals, whales and the seabirds nesting along the cliffs and if we are very lucky maybe even a polar bear. We’ll also visit one of the spectacular glaciers while we are in Kongsfjorden or Isfjorden, depending on the weather conditions that day.

What we recommend you to bring:
Please make sure to dress properly for Arctic weather conditions.
Our recommendations for this trip would be to wear: Sturdy waterproof boots or shoes (above the ankle), (soft shell) pants, shell jacket (wind and waterproof), base layers, warm socks, insulating mid-layer, warm hat (like a beanie), warm mittens/ gloves and a filled water bottle. If you can, choose woolen materials closest to your body.
Although the boat is warm inside, it can be cold on the water and when we get on land.
Important to know:
If, for safety reasons, unforeseen circumstances or due to weather conditions we need to adjust the planned route, we reserve the right to do so.
Your safety is our highest priority.
In such cases, no refunds will be given.
In the unlikely event that we are unable to carry out the trip at all and we can't leave the port, you will receive a full refund.
We reserve the right to refuse you to join our activity, without any refund, if you do not arrive on time, are not properly prepared in terms of clothing or in any way not capable of joining our trip. Your safety is our main concern.
Make sure you are in normal physical shape.
Although this trip is relatively easy, it could be experienced as moderate demanding (all depending on conditions and weather).
Although our activity is also focussed on wildlife, their presence can never be guaranteed.
Pickup: at your accommodation around the time stated on your confirmation.
Please just wait if we are not there on time.
We pick up everyone at the same time, so we could be some minutes later.
Cancellations:
If you need to cancel, please notify us in writing.

- 22 days or more prior to departure: 95%
- 21-8 days prior to departure: 50%
- 7 or less days prior to departure: 0%
Refunds:
We are not able to offer a refund due to route changes, sickness, cancelled or delayed flights or any other circumstance outside our control.
Age limits:
This experience is not suitable for children under the age of 10 years.
All under 18 need to be accompanied by an adult.
