Our Arctic adventure out to the East Coast of Spitsbergen begins in the evening, after a thorough briefing by the guide and run-through to ensure that everyone is ready for snowmobile-driving in Arctic conditions.
On our way out, you will be able to familiarize yourself with the snowmobile and how it handles on different types of terrain all the while enjoying this extraordinary way of traveling in the field. It will not take long until we are outside the light pollution of Longyearbyen and can really appreciate the open landscape ahead and starry skies above. Perhaps we are so lucky to experience the real magic of nature through the northern lights?
After a safe arrival at our Fulmar cabin closely located to the East Coast in a secluded valley, we bunker down with a warm atmosphere and good food before spending the night like a proper trapper. This will provide the best starting point for next morning’s adventure after an early breakfast where we aim to be the first group out to the mighty East Coast of Spitsbergen and the realm of polar bears.
General information:
The execution of the trip may vary some from the description. Due to weather conditions, we may choose different routes than originally planned. The guide will always evaluate and adjust the route according to the weather and snow conditions.
Requirements:
Drivers license for snowmobile (car/motorcycle is also valid). This you will need to bring along at the trip. Previous experience of snowmobiling is not necessary, as the guide will teach and supervise you. We offer snow mobile insurance with deductible NOK 6000,-. If you want to sign your own insurance before arrival, feel free to do it.
Included in the price:
Transport to/from your accommodation, personal snowmobile, suitable clothing, food, accommodation in the field, experienced guide with necessary safety equipment. The price does not include a sleeping bag.
