The museum tells exciting stories from the time Svalbard was discovered, from whaling and hunting, expeditions and coal mining, and about local conditions as well as geopolitics. Svalbard's unique nature is also central to the exhibition, from millions-of-years-old dinosaurs to polar bears and walruses, arctic foxes and Svalbard reindeer.
