This is the closest you’ll get to staying in your own private hunting lodge. An authentic and genuine hotel with only 16 rooms. Located in the heart of Longyearbyen, you have a short distance to all the town’s amenities. Here, you experience comfort combined with a rugged touch of Svalbard's harsh history. Basecamp Hotel is rustic in design, featuring reclaimed materials and historical elements from the life of trappers. With the hosts' care and the hotel’s soul, it feels almost like staying at the home of a true Svalbardian. The spacious rooms are constructed from driftwood, timber, leather, and other traditional materials.
You start your day with a generous and tasty breakfast and can finish off with a drink in the cozy lounge areas. The rooms do not have TVs, but wireless internet is included. You’ll find a lovely loft on the top floor, where you can experience the northern lights during the dark season and the midnight sun in the summer."
Breakfast is served from 7-10am, and free coffee, tea and hot chocolate are available in the reception area. You will get the chance to meet like-minded adventure travelers, and the laid-back atmosphere will make it easy to forget about the outside world.
