Day 1:
Welcome to Longyearbyen.
You will be picked up at the airport by your guide and driven to Basecamp Hotel in Longyearbyen.
After check-in, it’s time for your first Arctic activity: a visit to our dog yard where 80 happy Alaskan huskies are waiting.
You will harness your own dog team, and then we head out into nature with wagons.
Two people share a wagon and dog team, taking turns driving and being passenger.
Back in town, enjoy dinner at one of the local restaurants.
Day 2:
3:00 PM Pick-up at Basecamp Hotel and transfer to the quay where one of our enclosed boats is ready to take you westward toward Isfjord Radio.
The trip takes about an hour depending on current weather conditions.
Upon arrival, you will be greeted by your hospitable hosts at the quay.
5:00–6:30 PM Join a station walk. We invite you to get to know Isfjord Radio and the destination’s fascinating history.
Enjoy the afternoon in the wilderness, explore the library, take a refreshing challenge with a dip in the ocean, and warm up again in the sauna.
7:30 PM We gather for a delicious dinner based on Arctic ingredients. Please inform us of any food allergies when booking.
This is especially important for the chef’s preparations due to the remote location and limited availability.
Day 3:
After a good night’s sleep, wake up to an unforgettable view.
Enjoy your morning coffee with panoramic views of Griegfjellet, Kapp Linné bird reserve, and the Arctic Ocean.
8:00–10:00 AM Breakfast.
10:00 AM–4:00 PM Daily excursions from Isfjord Radio.
Join a hike or a RIB boat trip and get even closer to the stunning Arctic nature.
Our five-hour RIB boat safari goes to the north side of Isfjorden. In Trygghamna, you’ll see the striking landmark Alkehornet, a large bird cliff surrounded by lush and beautiful landscapes. We continue to Ymerbukta, where the scenic Esmark Glacier plunges into the sea. While floating among small icebergs in the green glacial water, you can hear the ice crackle.
If you prefer to explore on foot, join your Isfjord Radio guide for a wonderful hike.
With various route options, we’ll take you on a day in Arctic nature. The hike will be around 10–16 km.
7:30 PM Arctic dinner served in the dining room.
Day 4:
8:00–10:00 AM Breakfast.
10:00 AM–4:00 PM Today we arrange another day trip from Isfjord Radio. Join a RIB boat safari or a hike in the areas around Kapp Linné.
5:00 PM Boat transfer back to Longyearbyen and check-in at Basecamp Hotel. Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant.

Weather conditions can change quickly in Svalbard. Strong winds or thick fog can make it challenging to travel by boat. This means that weather, wind strength, and direction may sometimes force us to change the planned route, schedule, and program. In the worst case, we may not reach the planned destination, and situations may require us to use a different mode of transport or accommodation than described in the program. We always do our utmost to give you a great experience in Svalbard, but we must be mindful of the destination’s uniqueness.
