About

Grab your camera and get ready to meet the Arctic wildlife out in the wilderness.
On this guided tour from Longyearbyen, we take you into the local valleys to spot (and photograph) the unique animals.

We operate without a fixed route as our certified local guides will know the terrain. We will pick you up at your accommodation and drive to different spots but we will also do some light walking. We will always keep a distance as we do not want to disturb the wildlife.
The wildlife is wild and there is no guarantee to which kind of animals we will spot, but here are some of the animals that we have spotted on previous tours:

Svalbard Reindeer
The iconic, short legged reindeer that often graze peacefully

Polar fox
The small, agile foxes in their brown summer fur

Arctic birds and ducks
Meet for instance snow bunting, eider ducks, barnacle geese, and the protective Arctic terns nesting

Ptarmigan
The only resident bird on the archipelago, masters of Arctic camouflage

Walrus
Sometimes near town they will have a sunbathing. Usually around the end of June

Language and Clothes
You need to be able to speak and communicate in English due to safety reasons.
We can deny participation on the tour if you are not properly dressed for hiking and/or requirement above have not been fulfilled.
