Join a dedicated photography experience focused on puffins and seabirds, and discover some of Svalbard’s most fascinating birdlife up close.
Our main focus is the puffin – one of the Arctic’s most colorful and charismatic seabirds.
During the breeding season, puffins gather at the bird cliffs along the coast, where we can observe and photograph them as they rest on the water’s surface, nest on the steep cliffs, or return with beaks full of food for their chicks.
By traveling by boat, we can position ourselves optimally for both observation and photography while minimizing disturbance to the birds.
We take our time studying the puffins’ fascinating behavior – from the moment they leave the bird cliffs, flying low over the water, to finding their way back to their nesting sites.
In addition to puffins, the bird cliffs are home to a rich diversity of Arctic seabirds.
Depending on conditions, we may also encounter northern fulmars, black guillemots, black-legged kittiwakes, Brünnich’s guillemots, little auks, and several other species that thrive along Svalbard’s dramatic coastline.
Whether you are an experienced photographer or simply a wildlife enthusiast, your guide will help you capture great images and make the most of the experience.
The small group size provides ample space and flexibility for photography and wildlife observation.
As always in the Arctic, wildlife encounters are genuine and unpredictable, making every trip unique.

In rough seas, the boat may experience some movement depending on weather conditions.
Please consider your own comfort and ability at sea before booking.
If the tour must be cancelled due to strong winds or unfavorable weather conditions, we will of course provide a full refund. While we cannot guarantee an alternative program, we are happy to assist with suggestions and planning.
