About
We are a small tour operator specializing in Arctic sailing with daily shore excursions.
Our sailboat is called Aurora, and is a cozy little ship with space for 4-5 passengers.
A week-long trip with us starts at the quay in Longyearbyen.
There we will have a short introduction and safety orientation, before setting sail north towards Ny-Ålesund where we will spend 8 nights out in the wilderness on the west coast of Spitsbergen.
A typical day on our sailboat “Aurora” looks like this:
- 5-6 hours of sailing
- A shore excursion of 2-4 hours; a new place every day!
- We prepare breakfast/lunch/dinner on the boat, and eat together; preferably out on deck as long as the weather is nice.
- All meals are included in the price. Participants are responsible for bringing their own snacks and other beverages.
- Everyone on board helps out with the daily tasks (such as cooking and doing the dishes)
Our route is planned according to the weather and the group's wishes, but it will look something like this:
- Day 1: Longyearbyen - Eidembukta. We leave as soon as everyone is on board, but we are flexible on departure time.
- Day 2: Eidembukta - Poolepynten (Forlandet)
- Day 3: Poolepynten - Ny-Ålesund
- Day 4: Ny-Ålesund - Signahamna (Krossfjorden)
- Day 5: Signahamna - Engelskbukta
- Day 6: Engelskbukta - St. Jonsfjorden
- Day 7: St. Jonsfjorden - Trygghamna
- Day 8: Return to Longyearbyen. We will always adjust the schedule so that we arrive in Longyearbyen in good time for people to catch their flights home that day.
The final route is continuously updated based on current weather data, but departure and arrival in Longyearbyen will always take place on the predetermined dates.
