About

Ready for an unforgettable snowmobile adventure beneath the Arctic Polar Night?

Experience the magic of Svalbard during the Dark Season as we journey into the wilderness to visit one of the area's most fascinating natural landmarks, a towering ice pingo located around 20 km from Longyearbyen.

Your adventure begins with pickup from your accommodation, followed by a short drive to our basecamp. After a safety briefing and changing into warm expedition gear, you'll be ready to head out into the Arctic wilderness on your snowmobile. You can choose to drive the snowmobile by yourself, or if you're traveling with a companion, share one and swap drivers along the way.

Our route takes us through the vast, snow-covered valley of Adventdalen, where we'll keep an eye out for Arctic wildlife, including the iconic Svalbard reindeer. Surrounded by the silence of the Polar Night and illuminated by the soft glow of your headlights - and perhaps even the moon and stars - you'll experience the Arctic in a truly unique way.

When we reach the impressive pingo, your guide will explain how this remarkable periglacial landform was created and why it is such a unique feature of the Svalbard landscape. While taking in the surroundings, we'll enjoy hot drinks and sweet treats before continuing our journey.

On the way back, we'll stop at Longyearbyen's historic old airport, where the remains of a World War II aircraft crash still lie as a reminder of Svalbard's fascinating past.

This tour covers approximately 40–50 km by snowmobile and lasts around 3.5 hours, making it the perfect combination of adventure, Arctic nature, wildlife, and local history.
