About

Step into the Arctic wilderness.
Leave the roads behind and experience the quieter side of Svalbard.

This experience is all about slowing down and connecting with the Arctic landscape, far from busy routes and into a valley where nature sets the rhythm.
After we pick you up in Longyearbyen, we drive along the coast, where mountains meet the sea and the wind shapes everything you see.
Our destination is Bjørndalen – a wide, open valley that feels untouched and almost otherworldly.

Once there, we continue on foot, We start Walking, moving leisurely through the terrain.

This is an area with good chances of seeing reindeer.
These small, curious animals often wander across the tundra, and sightings are common – but never a guarantee.
Also keep an eye on the ground and mountainsides around you where arctic foxes may move silently through the landscape,
and seabirds circle above us in the endless Arctic light.

But this isn’t just about what you see – it’s about how it feels to be here.
We’ll keep a leisurely pace during the walk, with regular breaks to take in the silence, take photos and hear the stories behind this remote place.
Your guide will tell you how life survives up here – through extreme seasons, fragile ecosystems and a history of isolation.

Halfway we stop for a hot drink and a light snack, surrounded by nothing but open countryside.

On the way back we keep an eye on the coastline.
The cold Arctic sea can occasionally reveal beluga whales moving in small groups, and if we are lucky, a walrus resting along the shore.

No rush. No crowds. Just a simple and authentic Arctic experience.

Walking duration: Varies depending on conditions and driving time. The walk is taken at a relaxed and comfortable pace.

Difficulty: Easy, suitable for most participants.

The weather in Svalbard can change quickly, so the right clothing is essential for a good experience.

We recommend sturdy, waterproof hiking boots, as well as comfortable outdoor clothing in layers for warmth.
A good set-up includes wool underwear, a warm mid-layer and a windproof and waterproof outer jacket.
Hiking pants, warm socks, gloves or mittens and a hat are essential to stay comfortable throughout the walk.

Don't forget to bring a water bottle so you stay hydrated!
