About

Join a half-day snowmobile adventure into the wild winter landscapes outside Longyearbyen, where two of Svalbard’s most impressive natural ice formations await: a hidden glacier ice cave and the striking frozen waterfall at Elveneset.

After pickup from your accommodation, you will receive warm snowmobile clothing, a safety briefing and clear driving instruction before setting off. No previous snowmobile experience is required, but drivers must hold a valid physical driving licence accepted in Svalbard.
Your local Arctic guide will lead the group through snow-covered valleys and open wilderness, with dramatic mountain scenery and views towards Isfjorden and Tempelfjorden along the way.

The main highlight is an exploration of the ice cave at Tellbreen. Leave the snowmobiles behind and step into a remarkable world shaped by glacier movement and meltwater. Inside, discover smooth ice walls, frozen layers, delicate formations and shifting blue tones - each detail revealing the story of the glacier above.

The journey also includes a stop at Elveneset’s frozen waterfall, a spectacular Arctic sculpture created as water freezes layer by layer through the winter. Take time to photograph this unique natural landmark and enjoy the views where rugged mountains meet the fjord landscape.

During the excursion, your guide prepares a warm expedition lunch with hot drinks.
It is a chance to pause, recharge and enjoy the silence of the High Arctic before continuing the return journey across the snow-covered wilderness.

This is an active nature experience that combines snowmobiling, an ice cave visit, a frozen waterfall and magnificent fjord scenery in one memorable half-day excursion. The route, duration and stops can be adjusted by the guide according to weather, snow, ice and visibility conditions, always with safety first. Snowmobiling tours at level 4 are best suited for participants with good physical fitness, and previous snowmobiling experience is an advantage.
