There are plenty of options, including shorter trips well suited for those who wish to experience snowmobiling for the first time. On a short trip outside Longyearbyen, you can visit a beautiful ice cave or drive by snowmobile to a wilderness camp for a sumptuous dinner. Experience snowmobiling all year
If you visit Svalbard during the Polar Night, you can go on an exotic Northern Lights chase by snowmobile. You will really experience the silence and darkness of the Polar Night as the magical Northern Lights dance over your head. Or would you prefer to experience the Midnight Sun as you drive across the snow-covered mountain plateau. To operate a car, snowmobile, or ATV in Svalbard, you must hold a valid driving licence. A Category B licence (passenger car) is accepted. For snowmobiles, licences in categories A, A1, A2, or S (snowmobile) may also be accepted.The driving licence must also be carried when participating in organised tours.
