We show you the settlement and many of its high Arctic architectural marvels as well as many other highlights including two viewpoints, coal mines and the world-famous Svalbard Global Seed Vault. Our guide has lived in the Arctic for many years and is looking forward to taking you on an unforgettable trip of discovery.
This tour has been specially designed for you as a cruise guest who'd like to join a sightseeing tour with a German-speaking guide, so that you can discover Svalbard in a nutshell in the limited time you are on site.

The settlement of Longyearbyen, the Svalbard Global seed vault, university, church, cemetery, Huset, hospital, local council building, power plant, the governor's mansion, the governor's office, dog kennel, EISCAT radars & Kjell Henriksen observatory (in good visibility), coal mines number 1-7, Operafjellet, Hotellneset, airport and much more.
Pick up:
You will be picked up at the cruise-port or any other pick up spot you may be able to enter upon booking, and brought back at the end of the tour.
Important information:
- No drinks or snacks are served on this tour.
- The guiding on this tour will be done in German, but the guide also speaks English, Norwegian and Swiss-German.
- We are happy to assist wheelchair users or persons with other disabilities, but the bus has no special adaptations. A folding wheelchair can be carried in the boot.
