Experience Arctic Wildlife on Our Evening & Night Tour
Join us for a unique evening and night adventure in and around Longyearbyen, where we search for Arctic wildlife, birdlife, and breathtaking landscapes under the magical light of the polar night or midnight sun season.
This is not a typical hiking tour. Our tours are designed exclusively for observing and experiencing wildlife and birds in their natural environment. We operate as SLOW TOURS, meaning we move at nature’s pace — stopping often and sometimes waiting quietly in one location for animals or birds to appear. Because wildlife always comes first, we do not follow a strict route or rush from place to place.
Our experienced guides are passionate wildlife photographers with extensive local knowledge of Arctic birds and animals. Through constant communication within our team, we stay updated on recent wildlife sightings, allowing us to spend more time in the areas with the best activity and opportunities.
We pick you up at 21:30 and return to town around 02:00.
At this time of day, the landscapes are often at their most beautiful, with soft Arctic light and far fewer people around. Depending on weather conditions, these hours can provide exceptional opportunities for photography and unforgettable wildlife encounters.
The tour focuses on wildlife observation, photography, and immersive nature experiences. Whether you are an experienced photographer or simply enjoy being close to nature, our guides are happy to share tips and help you get the most out of your camera equipment — just ask.
Tour duration: up to 4 hours.
The tour is suitable for everyone, and we travel by car to different locations.
From these points, we take you into the terrain.
We walk in easy terrain, ranging from 500 meters to 2–3 km at the longest stops.
Our Arctic fox and the fantastic birdlife are the main focus, but the Svalbard reindeer is also one of the iconic species we search for.
Birdlife is also rich in this period from May to August.
From mid-July to mid-August, the Arctic fox can be a bit harder to find, as it stays closer to its den area and food availability is very good.
(This tour is for 2 to 8 people; for larger groups, please contact us).
We also offer tours with limited numbers of participants, such as exclusive tours for photographers only, and a tour with a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 3 participants, providing greater personal freedom to see, experience, and photograph.
Minimum number of participants: 2
This tour will not be carried out with only 1 participant. If this is the case, you will be contacted at least 12 hours before the tour starts.
