This unforgettable experience is the best choice for those who wish to travel out of Longyearbyen and explore the summer landscapes that Svalbard has to offer. On our journey we can encounter wildlife including birds, whales, belugas, walruses, seals, and if we are lucky, the king of the Arctic, the polar bear.
Our trip begins with your guide picking you up at your designated meeting point. We will then travel to our base camp, where you will borrow a survival suit, life jacket, glasses, balaclava, and boots. The guide will provide a briefing about the day's route, weather conditions, and expectations.
Before we set off on the water, the guide will review all safety-related information regarding safe travel and onboard security. Along the way, warm drinks will be served, if the weather conditions allow for it.
The journey through Svalbard's wilderness is suitable for those who want to learn more about Svalbard's history, its challenges, observe wildlife from a safe and undisturbing distance, and enjoy a boat trip surrounded by nature in its most beautiful form.
During the trip, we will experience the dramatic landscape shaped over thousands of years, leading to spectacular glacier fronts.
Our open RIB boat is equipped with comfortable seats and handholds, in addition to all legally required safety equipment mandated by the Maritime Directorate for safe transportation of passengers at sea.
Please note that this is an open boat, and you may experience spray and waves. Therefore, we do not recommend participation for individuals with back problems or for pregnant women.
We would like to remind everyone that all travel duration and routes may change based on weather, wind, and sea conditions. Safety will always be our highest priority.
