Husky Sailing is a small, seasonal tour operator that primarily specializes in week-long sailing trips along the west coast of Spitsbergen.
A typical day on our flagship, S/Y Aurora usually begins with a shared breakfast on deck, before we lift our anchor and sail on to our destination of that day, where we use our trusted dinghy to go ashore and explore all that Svalbard has to offer. We typically do one land excursion/hike per day - tailored to the fitness level of the group.
What makes this way of slow travel so unique is how close you are to nature at all times. Whether we’re anchored in front of the glacier in Trygghamna or sailing full steam up Forlandsundet; on the deck of S/Y Aurora you always have a first-class view of both Arctic nature and wildlife.
Our trips are best suited for adventurous people who want an active and authentic Arctic experience. We believe that experiencing Svalbard from the deck of our “safe space ship” Aurora is the perfect compromise where you can get truly raw nature experiences, while not having to give up all the comforts of home.
We operate out of Longyearbyen from the start of the Polar Summer in May until the midnight sun sets in August. All our trips start and end in Longyearbyen.
