Join us for a memorable evening hike to the summit of Blomsterdalen, where we combine some of Svalbard’s most fascinating stories with beautiful Arctic nature and the peaceful atmosphere of the mountains after the day has ended.
Our adventure begins with a visit to one of the most unique places in Svalbard, the Svalbard Global Seed Vault. Hidden deep inside the mountain, this remarkable vault stores seeds from all around the world, protecting them for future generations. While we cannot enter the vault itself, standing outside and hearing the story behind this incredible place gives a special appreciation for the importance of this hidden mountain facility.
After learning more about this fascinating part of Svalbard’s history, we’ll start our hike from the foot of the mountain and slowly make our way towards the summit of Blomsterdalen.
As we walk higher, the views become more and more impressive. The peaceful Arctic landscape opens up around us, showing the endless wilderness that makes Svalbard so unique.
Along the way, we’ll take our time to enjoy the surroundings, stop for photos, and warm up with a hot drink and some sweet treats while your guide shares stories about the area and life in the High Arctic.
Keep your eyes open during the hike as you never know what might appear. Svalbard reindeers often move quietly through these landscapes, and with a little luck, we may even spot an Arctic fox!
Enjoy the beautiful view over the fjord Isfjorden, where you may even see multiple glaciers in the distance when the sky is clear. A short stop on the top will give us the chance to enjoy the evening sun or Northern lights (depending on the season we are in).
This 3.5-hour hike is a wonderful way to experience a quieter side of Svalbard. A place where history, nature, and the Arctic sky come together in a truly special setting.
The tour covers approximately 5 km with 300 meters of elevation gain.
Come experience Svalbard after the crowds have disappeared, discover the stories hidden inside the mountains, and enjoy an unforgettable evening beneath the Arctic sky!
