Join us into the beautiful and peaceful Endalen Valley, a hidden gem away from the crowds where you can experience the true silence and beauty of Svalbard’s Arctic wilderness.

Here, small streams wind their way through the valley, flowing between dramatic mountains and untouched landscapes. With waterproof boots provided by us, you’ll be ready to follow the streams, cross the Arctic terrain, and make your way towards the beautiful waterfall at the end of the valley. Along the way, keep your eyes open for wildlife and take in the incredible surroundings that make this place so special.

Your adventure begins with a pickup from your hotel and a visit to our basecamp, where we prepare for the day ahead. Here, you’ll change into waterproof boots to keep your feet comfortable and dry throughout the hike. Trekking poles are also available for those who would like extra support.

From basecamp, we drive by minivan towards our starting point at the abandoned Mine 5, located at the entrance of Endalen Valley. Leaving the road behind, we begin our journey into this peaceful Arctic landscape.

As we follow the valley, we’ll walk alongside a thousand streams, cross the flowing water when needed, and slowly making our way deeper into the wilderness. Our experienced guides know the best routes and will help you safely navigate the crossings, adding a little extra adventure to the experience.

Throughout the day, there will be plenty of time to stop, take photos, search for Arctic wildlife, and simply enjoy the feeling of being surrounded by nature. The highlight of the hike is reaching the waterfall, where we’ll settle down with a warm expedition-style lunch and hot drinks while enjoying the beautiful view and the peaceful sounds of the Arctic.

This is more than just a hike, it is an opportunity to experience a quieter, more authentic side of Svalbard, where flowing water, wild landscapes, and Arctic silence create unforgettable moments!

The tour lasts approximately 8 hours and includes around 8–10 km of hiking with a maximum elevation gain of 150 meters. Waterproof boots, trekking poles (optional), transfers, warm expedition lunch, and drinks are included.

For those who are looking for a bit more challenging version of this adventure hike, every Saturday we will do the “circumnavigation“ where the waterfall isn’t the end of your hike.

We will continue into the valley of Fardalsbakken before we will climb up to the glacier passage to reach the massive glacier of Longyearbreen. We swap to microspikes to safely go down on the glacier, passing by the melting channels of the glacier, whilst enjoying a magnificent view over Longyearbyen.

This tour will be approximately a 10 hours trip and there is an extra fee of 200 NOK per person and is considered difficulty level 4/5.

Included:
Our professional and dedicated guide, warm expedition food, hot drinks and sweets, Search & Rescue insurance, emergency and safety equipment, transfer to and from your accommodation. 

For this hike we also provide you with rubber boots.

What we recommend you to bring:
Please make sure to dress properly for Arctic weather conditions. 

Our recommendations for this hike would be to wear: Sturdy waterproof hiking boots/shoes (above the ankle), (soft shell) hiking pants, shell jacket (wind and waterproof), base layers, warm hiking socks, insulating mid-layer, warm hat (like a beanie), warm mittens/ gloves and a filled water bottle. If you can, choose woolen materials closest to your body.

We want you to bring a backpack as we will divide the food and drinks among the participants.

Important to know:
If, for safety reasons, we need to adjust the planned route, we reserve the right to do so. Your safety is our highest priority. In such cases, no refunds will be given.
In the unlikely event that we are unable to carry out the trip, either by adjusting the route or by starting the booked tour, you will receive a full refund.

We reserve the right to refuse you to join our activity, without any refund, if you do not arrive on time, are not properly prepared in terms of clothing or in any way not capable of joining our trip. Your safety is our main concern.

Make sure you are in normal physical shape, as this hike can be experienced as moderate demanding (all depending on conditions and weather). 

For the extended version we need to walk upwards.

Warning: During some periods of the year, we need to cross several rivers in the valley. Our guide will make sure we only do so when this is safe enough. We will provide you with waterproof boots, but there is a possibility you will get wet feet. 

Pickup: at your accommodation around the time stated on your confirmation.

We pick up everyone at the same time, so we could be some minutes later.

Cancellations:
If you need to cancel, please notify us in writing.
Cancellation reimbursement:
- 22 days or more prior to departure: 95%
- 21-8 days prior to departure: 50%
- 7 or less days prior to departure: 0%.

Refunds:
We are not able to offer a refund due to route changes, sickness, cancelled or delayed flights or any other circumstance outside our control. 

Age limits:
This experience is not suitable for children under the age of 14 years.

All under 18 years old need to be accompanied by an adult.
