Ski into the undiscovered Southern lands of Spitsbergen - 7-day ski touring expedition
Join us for an exciting and unique experience where we will ski the remote and undiscovered
areas of the Southern part of Svalbard. Seven days of exploring this massive area by ski with one
cosy wilderness camp as our basecamp, enjoying the remoteness and Arctic silence that comes
with this adventure.
A true once in a lifetime experience for those who seek a ski touring expedition up in the high
Arctic.
The evening before
The evening before our expedition, we invite you in our basecamp where we will host you a
culinary dinner. During this moment you will meet our team, have a briefing about our upcoming
expedition and give you a safety instruction whilst we prepare our gear for the day after. Take a
good night rest in your hotel as the upcoming days will be packed with adventure!
It’s expedition day
This morning we will pick you up from your accommodation and transfer you to our basecamp.
We will start our expedition not on ski’s but on snowmobiles to be able to bring us far out into the
wilderness. You will drive your own snowmobile and after dressing into the proper clothes and a
safety briefing we are good to go! We will drive South through the valleys of Todalen, Gangdalen &
Reindalen up till the summit of Slakbreen (one of our favourite glaciers) which will give us an
incredible 360 view over Svea and the inner part of Van Mijenfjorden. On our way to our camp we
will get a great view over Paulabreen (glacier) on the edge of Rindersbukta. From here we will
leave our snowmobiles behind and if needed we will cross the sea ice to get to our campspot.
Together we will all put up camp for our upcoming days.
Enjoy a warm expedition dinner in front of a fire, tomorrow our first day of ski touring will start!
Waking up in the raw Arctic
Close your eyes and imagine a silence so vast it hums - mountains rising like ancient guardians
and the Arctic air crisp against your skin. Here, in the stillness of endless light and shadow, you
remember what it means to be small, yet deeply connected to everything
How about waking up in complete Arctic silence. Just you and nature…and a good coffee! :-)
For the upcoming days our camp will be our basecamp from where we will do ski touring in the
surrounding mountains and areas. All mountains will have an elevation of approximately 1000
meters and majestic 360 views that are completely out of this world!
Our days will be filled with skiing, eating, skiing, relaxing, skiing, having fun, skiing, being amazed,
skiing, and polar bear watch at night for safety.
Our final day
We knew this day would come – We don’t want to leave this perfect world behind.
One last mountain to take before we jump back on our snowmobiles to drive us back to town.
After breakfast we will take down our camp and will make our way to the snowmobiles. We will
slowly make our way back to town, passing by Barentsburg, Colesbay and one last visit at the
beautiful ice cave at Passfjelbreen. We will be driving up to Longyearbreen (glacier) for one last
great view over town and great stories to tell!!
